TelePromptly is a teleprompter app for iPhone and iPad made by Brian Lowen. It is built so that your scripts and your voice stay with you. This policy explains what the app stores, where, and what it does not do.
TelePromptly stores the scripts you write or import, the tags you give them, saved versions of scripts, rehearsal reports (pace, timing, and score for a Voice session), and your settings. This data lives on your device. If iCloud sync is on, it is also stored in the private iCloud database attached to your Apple Account through Apple's CloudKit service. The developer has no access to your private iCloud database and cannot read your scripts.
You can export every script as Markdown or delete everything from the device and from iCloud at any time in Settings under Export or delete all data. Deleting the app removes its local data; iCloud data can be removed from the app before deleting it or through iOS Settings for iCloud storage.
Voice mode listens while the prompter is open so the script can follow what you say. Recognition runs entirely on your device using Apple's on-device speech model, which the app downloads once from Apple. No audio, transcript, or text leaves your device, nothing is recorded, and the microphone is off whenever the prompter is closed or set to Timed or Manual mode. You can revoke microphone or speech recognition access at any time in iOS Settings; the app keeps working in Timed and Manual modes.
The optional Pro upgrade and tips are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment and provides the developer with no personal information about you. Whether you own Pro, and how many free Voice presentations you have used, is stored only on your device.
When you import a PDF, Word, Markdown, or text file, the app reads it on your device to create a script. The file itself is not uploaded anywhere and, for files sent to TelePromptly from other apps, the temporary copy is removed after import.
The app makes no network requests of its own. The only network activity is Apple's: iCloud sync through CloudKit when you turn it on, the one-time speech model download, and App Store purchases.
TelePromptly is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, changes are expected to be rare.
